Welcome to Dayton
For those of you who are just joining us today, I think I should welcome you to our amazing school and website. Now first off, you may be asking; “What is Innovate Dayton?” Innovate Dayton is a program that helps us build an inclusive, innovation-based environment by empowering talent using a strategic plan that was developed by our friends at the Technology Association of Oregon (TAO).
We do a lot of interesting things here at Dayton. While we have your normal classes like science, math, and literature, we also have classes like Innovations (coding), Robotics, Culinary, FFA, and Photography. These classes are all designed to unleash our creativity and passion to learn. On top of these classes, we also have many other innovate classes and clubs where students can continue to learn and be inspired.
There is also an assortment of fundraiser events that we do. Such as a three-on-three basketball tournament, a blood drive, an art show, and other such events that are done once a year. We also have a community garden where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables during the spring and summer months.
In addition to fundraisers and classes, We have a variety of sports programs. Football, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, just to name a few. Not to mention, we have a national award-winning FFA program. We’ve been doing this for so long that we have two massive cases filled almost to the brink with trophies.
But while these classes, clubs, fundraisers and sporting events are where we push the envelope of learning, this isn’t what truly puts us on the map for success. It’s what we do with our passion that separates us from the rest. We use what we learn to inspire others in our community to become involved. Businesses and community members volunteer and give us learning opportunities that we wouldn’t normally be able to experience. In return, they’re often inspired by our passion to push themselves to be innovative.
But at the end of the day, we’re just high school students. We go to class and do homework like everyone else. So to us, all this is just normal to us. Now that you have an overview of our wonderful school, we hope you come and attend it either as a student or a visitor. Thank you for coming!
